Here’s a simple little hack to save your power cord and save you some money. I must be hard on power cords because I average replacing my iPhone cord about twice a year. The cord becomes frayed like the one shown in the top photo above. Eventually it will stop working altogether.
To correct this problem, take a spring from inside an old ballpoint pen. Stretch it out, then wind it around the cord as shown. The extra support keeps the cord from bending at the stress point. Voilà!
